Clear Eyes, Full Hearts...
Inspiration is all around us. Once a month, Friday Night Lighthouse (FNL) will host a video presentation exploring the world views of influential thinkers and visionaries. With an intention-setting introduction and mediation beforehand and communal discussion afterwards, we’ll dive into ideas that address first principles: the core beliefs that shape the individual. Some examples include the concept of linear versus cyclical time, or treating illness from a holistic versus allopathic angle.
Our inaugural presentation will be two talks from “Eastern Wisdom and Modern Life” by Alan Watts: “Man & Nature” and “Things & Thinks.” Watts (1915–1973) was a philosopher, writer, and speaker best known as an interpreter and advocate of Eastern thought for a contemporary audience.
Future FNL presentations include J. Krishnamurti, Pema Chödron, Eckhart Tolle, and Ram Dass. Additional presentation suggestions from participants is welcomed and encouraged.
One Friday each month, beginning 2.2, 7:00–9:00pm (doors close at 7:15). Class pass or $10 donation.
