Parent from Your Center
Parenting is a difficult job; there is no doubt. Parents and caregivers of children with special needs share the same concerns as all parents about child-rearing, however, we face additional challenges with health, cognitive, social, and behavioral issues. The range of these special needs and the impact they have upon families and caregivers is vast. But often as caregivers, our physical and emotional responses are the same. We are frazzled, struggling to cope with meeting our kids’ needs. We are exhausted. We are sometimes overwhelmed with worry, anxious about what the future holds.
In this workshop, you will learn to use yoga tools—asana (poses), pranayama (breath work) and mindfulness—to self-nurture, help alleviate stress and anxiety, be more grounded, and be better able to parent from your center.
After the practice, you are invited to stay for refreshments and meaningful conversation with parents and caregivers facing similar challenges.
Friday, 3.13, 6:30-8:30pm. $20/person, $30/couple
