The Anatomy of Tranquility
Balance is happening all the time. In our yoga poses it happens on two feet, one foot, arms, knees, elbows, head...the list goes on. We are also working to bring into balance the right and left sides of the body. This leads to balanced neurological function, which in turn leads to balanced brain function. Along the way, you will feel a great sense of health throughout the whole body, as the various organs are toned and body systems are brought into balance with each other.
In this two-and-a-half hour workshop with Karen Storms-Rohm, we will work on poses and breathing practices that enhance this sense of balance and also discuss the science of achieving a tranquil mind. For women, a major obstacle in achieving inner balance is the energetic stagnation resulting from fear. Transformation of fear will be a guiding principle throughout the practice. To practice facing the fear, there will be an opportunity to work into advanced poses for those who feel ready. Preparation poses will be given for those who do not want to work into the full pose. We will end with guided deep relaxation and meditation. All levels welcome.
Saturday, 6.20, 4:00-6:30pm. $45/person, pre-registration recommended.
